Past and Present

Past and Present
A client came to us looking for a special gift to commemorate her parents' 40th wedding anniversary. "My parents have shared a wonderful life together and are great friends. Their wedding photos are amazing, but we also want to celebrate them here and now." Together we conceived of two pairs of figures, one marking their wedding day in black and white and the other in color, capturing a recent summer afternoon. In each pair, the figures overlap to form a complete image. (Roll over image to view both pairs)

An Inspired Quote An Inspired Passage
A client came to us with a treasured photograph of her parents, a remarkable image of two people in love, young and glamorous. Her father had passed away, and she wanted to create a special gift for her mother. Sharing the story of his life, she mentioned his favorite lines from Alfred Tennyson’s Ulysses, beckoning the reader "...to seek, to strive, to find, and not to yield." We integrated the text in a subtle shade in the image and it also guided the design, an elegant vertical form with subjects looking into open space and their life together.
A Third Thing A Third Thing
Talking about her upcoming marriage, Deborah reflected on two lives coming together. "What I love about my relationship with Brian is that each of us remains ourselves, with our own identity. Now we're creating a third thing, a life and space and presence that we inhabit together." We conceived a triptych reflecting this vision of a shared life, created from photographs taken at their wedding ceremony.
